The White House Bar
The Original Speakeasy.
Established in 1812 and situated in the heart of Limerick City, the White House Bar is as famous for its connections with the local literary arts as it is for the heritage of the bar itself. It was once the host of The White House Poets for ten years, led by the larger than life and sadly missed Mr. Barney Sheehan. The White House is beginning to reconnect with these roots, whilst maintaining the high standards demanded of the traditional Irish pub.

A Rare & Rich Heritage
“It’s the home of the fairies, and the hill of the truth, In my memory there’s a vision of those days in my youth. The Cave and the Cromlech, and Poulnabraine too, On the slopes of Knockfierna, I will wait there for you”. Taken from “The Slopes of Knockfierna” by Tom Hickey, 2008, A well loved White House Poet.
